Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify limitations in patients’ daily living and working tasks.
- Develop and implement treatment plans aimed at improving fine motor skills, coordination, and cognitive function.
- Guide patients through exercises and activities that promote recovery, such as strengthening, stretching, and adaptive techniques.
- Educate patients and their families on home modifications, assistive devices, and strategies for managing daily tasks.
- Collaborate with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and adjust treatment plans as necessary to reflect progress.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current New York State Occupational Therapist license or eligibility for licensure.
- Strong understanding of rehabilitation techniques for orthopedic and neurological conditions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and their families.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
