I’m big into quotes! I love hearing famous quotes from people I think are wise, and I try to internalize them in any way I can. Albert Einstein is a true genius, and I hang on his every word. Over the years, I’ve learned to incorporate his sayings into the business side of Park North PT. Here are the top seven Albert Einstein quotes that we try to implement:
- “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” This one should resonate with everyone in the medical field. Our staff chose the profession of PT to make an impact on others. It’s our life goal.
- “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” This one is my favorite, and as some of you know, we have a poster of it at our Broadway office. It’s very clear, and not much explanation is needed. Doing nothing is not an option.
- “Strive not for success, but rather to be of value.” We pride ourselves on the value of our profession. We help so many people live more comfortably and with less pain through physical movement. It’s an honor that our patients give their time, energy, and money for us to help them.
- “Intellectuals solve problems; geniuses prevent them.” We have all heard about the importance of prevention. Our job is to prevent injuries from happening again.
- “The greatest scientists are artists as well.” Medicine, in general, is part art and part science. The science is what we learned in PT school; the art is in the soft skills we use to explain it.
- “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” This one is also becoming one of my favorites, and I tell this to everyone who works at our offices. Cut through the medical mumbo-jumbo and speak in language that is easy to understand.
- “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” My job as CEO of Park North PT is to find new and innovative ways to take the profession of PT to a higher level. I am always looking for ways to get better outcomes with less effort. This is a lifelong goal.
